ADDINGTON CATTLE INSURANCE FUND.
The annual meeting of subscribers to the Atldington Yards Cattle Insurance Fund was held at Mr A. McKellar's office, "Worcester street, on Tuesday evening, Mr Conway Matson, chairman of tho 'Management Committee, presiding over a small attendance. The chairman, in presenting the treasurer's report, referred to the value of the fund to butchers and dealers, and emphasised the necessity for maintaining a substantial reserve. The reporfc stated that during the *iear 11,831 cattle had been insured, and that claims had been made on the fund in respect of 218 animals, or 1.84 per cent, of those insured. The balance-sheet showed that the income for^the year ended January 31st had amounted to £870 14s 6d, and the expenditure to £7G3 15s, leaving a credit ba-lance of £106 19s 6d. It was stated that the- premiums were the lowest charged in any part of tho world. The following wero elected a Management Comniittoe for the ensuing year:—Chairman, Mr Conway Matson: butchers' representatives, Messrs J. Knight and F. H. Steel; dealers' representatives, Messrs John Barr and F. Tavender.
