WHARENUI.
There w«re about ninety householders present at the Wharenui School. Mr R. W. Brighting presided. A motion protesting against the action of the Minister of Education *n withholding the special capitation grant of 9d was carried unanimously. The meeting also decided to protest against the injustice that hae been sustained "by the action of the Education. Board in refusing to alter the eastern "boundary of the school district, and it was decided to present a petition to the Minister of Education for the alteration of the boundary. Copies of the resolution are to be forwarded to members of the Education Board and also to Mr G. Witty, M.P.
The meeting recorded its appreciaton : of the services rendered by the ladies of the district in connection with th*» bazaar in aid of the school funds.
The following ■were' elected as a committee: —Messrs R. W. Brighting (chairman), W. Bout, G. Ferguson, F. Coombs. G. D. White. R. W. Hanna. H. Dndsell (secretary), Efford, and W. Palmer.
