Nominations ar© due to-night for die Wanganui Jockey Club's Winter Meeting.
Acceptances for the Hawko's Bay J.C.s Autumn Meeting close this evening. Nominations . for the Christchurch R.C.s Autumn Meeting, to be held on May 7th, close with the secretary at 8 o'clock this evening. Nominations for the Egmont R.C.s and TakapuUa J.C.s Winter Meetings are also due to-night.
The secretary of tho Ashburton County R.C. will take nominations for his Club's Autumn Meeting to-morrow night.
. -The well-known trainer F. Holmes left on Wednesday on a holiday trip to San Francisco. On Tuesday evening a number of his snorting friends foregathered at the _lhades Hotel, and presented him with a travelling-rug. The gathering was presided over by Mr J. R. Charlton.
G"en and Glentui, each of whom won races- at the Nelson Meetinc yesterday, are' by Glenogle, by Clanranald — Retina, who won several eood races carrying Sir Geo. Clifford's colours some ten or twelve years ago. When competing in the hurdle race at Timaru yesterday, Hazard fell, hut fortunately neither the horse nor his rider was much the worse for the mishan.
