COAL FROM NEWCASTLE.
The first shipment of Newcastle' ooal brought to New Zealand since the strike arrived at Lyttelton on Saturday night in the Union Company's collier Jiurow. The reesel left Newcastle at G p.m. on Saturday, 19th inst., and experienced fresh to moderate easterly and southerly winds *nd moderate seas till the Kew Zealand coast was reached. Stephens Island was passed at 9.35 p.m. oa Friday, and Cape Campbell at 5.30 a.m. on Saturday, tbe vessel anchoring in the stream at 10 p.m. After inspection by the Health Officer and Custom* otiiciai*, the vessel was brought in by the pilot, Captain Hunter, and berthed at the Gladstone pier. Captain H. iiicpnan is in charge of the Kurow, in piace of Captain W. Hntcbingß, who has taken command of the Waihora. The Kurow has about 2000 tons of coal to land here, and will atterwards go to Wellington to discharge 1600 tons. The Waihora, Wairona and Kaiapoi are expected to kuve Newcastle shortly with cargoes of coal for New Zealand.
