LADIES' CRICKET.
CANTERBURY r. WELLINGTON". _' Yesterday,- at Hagley Park, the first lnterprovincial ladies' match was concluded, when the local ladies won by the substantial majority of 241 runs, only one innings a side being played. The Wellington ladies, having the misfortune to bat on a sodden wicket occasioned hy Sunday night's rain, failed dismally, Miss P. Mackay being the only ono to reach double figures. The smart fielding of the Canterbury side accounted for no less than nix run outs, the remaining four wickets being taken by Miss Curlett at a cost of eleven runs.
