LYTTELTON.

Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided at Lyttelton yesterday.

Robert Haydon was charged with having on the 12th inst. procured hquor for a prohibited person, Prank Gallagher. A charge was aiso preferred against Frank Gallagher of procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order against him. Mr Beswick a,ppeared for both the accused, who nleaded guilty. Gallagher was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment, and Haydon was fined 40$, in default one month's imprisonment. Orton Gebbie and Samuel Blatchford. for whom Mr Hoban appeared, were each fined 20s and costs for breaches of the Orchard and Garden Pe<?ts Act. Constance Reynolds (Mr Beswick) claimed from Charles Rosser (Mr Hunter) the sum of £7, being the value of a bicycle seized by defendant, and damages. After hearing tho evidence the Magistrate said that because of tho man's objectionable and underhand method of recovering the bicycle, and his untruthfulness when spoken to by the police regarding the disappearance of the machine, he would make an order for the return of the bicvcta within one week, on payment by the plaintiff of tho sum of £3, being !£_s 5<5 due on the purchase money and los for overhauling and repairing the machine. The amount was at once paid into Court.
