Hawkins (hon. secretary). Mr E. Denham (Mayor of Sumner) wrote suggesting that the next regatta should be held on Sumner Estuary, as he thought it would be a greater success there from the point of view of attendance. It was remarked by members present that if a. course could be got at Sumner the scheme would be excellent; but uonbt wa3 expressed as to the obtaining of a suitable course. Jt was admitted the distance of Lake Forsyth was against holding the regatta at the latter place. Tho Hon. The Railway Department wrote, stating tliat in loading up boats after the Regatta at Little River the railway officer in charge marked trucks for boats for each club. The Lyttelton Club neglected to comply with the officer's request to use the marked truck, thus causing i_«-onvcnience. It was resolved to write thanking tho Department tor the excellent manner in ■which they bad assisted the committee, and promising to prevent a recurrence of the action complained of; also to write to the Lyttelton Club, asking a rep'y, and pointing out how seriously such action interfered with the arrangements with the railway.
