SHIPPING NOTES.

An alteration has been made in the loading programme of the Shaw, Savill „nd Albion Co.'s Bteamer Taihui. The vessel, which is now completing discharge of her inward cargo, will not call •at Timaru, but will leave Lyttelton at noon on Friday for Picton to load frozen meat, etc. The liner will return to Lyttelton on Tuesday, 6th inst., and will leave again on the 17th inst. for Wellington to complete loading. fans will sail finally from Wellington on the 34th inst. for London, via Monte Video, Rio de Janeiro, Teneriffe and Plymouth. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.'s new twin •crew steamer Rangatira left Liverpool last Thursday on her maiden voyage to New Zealand porta. The Rangatira is a l*rge vessel of 8200 tons, _peciaUy built by Workman, Clark and Co.. of Belfast, for the New Zealand trade She is due at Auckland about April Sth, and at Lyttelton about April 18th. The Arapswa, due here to-morrow morning, from Wellington, will sail again in the evening, taking cargo for Wellington, Wanganui snd Patea. • The Wakatu, after being ' cleaned . .-nd painted '•' on the' slip, will sail to-morrow evening for Kaikoura snd Wellington. T'he New-. Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kaikoura will complete loading atid coaling this afternoon, and will sail at 5 p.m. for London. The vessel, which is inking a full cargo of wool, frozen meat and general produce, will omit the customary call at Monte Video on her Homeward passage, but will call instead at Rio ac Janeiro. The. Federal-Houlder-Shire Line steamer Buteshire,: from West of England ports, via Sydney,, Auckland and Wellington, will arrive here this morning,- and after landing «00 tons of cargo, will leave to-morrow for Dunedin to complete discharging. After that, the Teasel will go into Otago Dock for cleaning and psinting, and will then load ■wool and general cargo at New Zealand ports for London under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company. -The White Star Liner lonic was reported from Capetown on Saturday, "All well.
