The Premier has received a despatch conferring the King's Police Medal on Constable Gates, for bravery while arresting a burglar at North Sydney in April last. GOOD COOKING AND THE DRINK EVIL. The Health Officer, in his amrjal report, advises the Woman's League to turn their attention to cookery and combating the liquor evil, which he largely attributes to bad cooking. A monotonous diet is driving men to drink. A BOAT MISSING. BRISBANE, February 23. The Moresby's third boat is still missing. Search vessels are out.
