Acceptances for first day events at the New Zealand Metropolitan T.C Summer Meeting close at 8 o'clock this evening. Sons and daughters of Olanranald havo won the last four contests for the Middle Park Plate. While doing a preliminary gallop previous to the start of the Richmond Plate at Riccarton on Saturday, Perm attempted to run off at the crossing, turning out of the straight and running against the rails, threw his rider, S. Murfitt, who was so badly hurt that the horse was scratched. What money had been invested on him in the totalisator was returned to backers. Tlie scratching of Maltine for the New market Handicap caused consternation in the ranks of backers, as sho had been well supported both straightout and in doubles.
A Sydney cablegram states that Snowfoot, a New Zealand-bred colt, won the Flying Handicap at Canterbury Park on Saturday.
