SWIMMING.
The Richmond Amuteur Swimming Club was to hold two club races last evening , , but had to postpone thorn till to-morrow at 5.30 p.m. on account of the inclement weather. The selectors of tho water polo team to represent Canterbury at the Auckland championships this month have decided to hold a trial match in W-est Chriatchurch baths. Lincoln road, to-morrow, at 5.15 p.m. The following are the teams:—A team—Goal, G. Lester; full-back, A. Russell; , halves, W. L. Dodge, V. Drake; forwards, W. McCracken. H. Rich, L. Hales. B team—Goal, G. G-emmell; full-back, ■Sγ .Manhire; halves, W. Cookaon, 11. Williams; forwards, P. Schwartz, C. Atkinson, A. Brightlins Emergencies—li. Dingle, P. Maenn. The executive of the Canterbury Centre New Zealand Amateui Swimming Association met last evening, when it was decided to pwim off as follows the challenges of representatives for the New Zealand oham pionehipe to be held in Auckland nest month:—22oyds, brecet stroKe, to-morrow at West Christchurch bathe, at 5.15 p.m., between A. Russell, W. Cookeon and C. Atkinson; 880 yds. betw-een H. Rich, W. Manhire end F. E. Dodge, to-morrow, at the "West Chriatehuroh bathe, at 5.30 p.m.; 22Cyd» on Friday next, at West Christcflurch baths, between F. E. Dodge and C. Atkincon, at 5.15 p.m.
