Mr J. F. Buchanan has sold Fireglow, by Martian out of Firetide, to Mr S. Pufcttlefold. In company with Martyre, she- will go into D. J. Price's stable, Caulfield. and will probably be given a chance of earning distinction in the pony ranks. J. McCqmbe intends sotting up a training establishment at Wanganui in preference to Wingatui. Mr F. H. Pyne, chairman of the Canterbury Jockey Club, contemplates taking a trip to England in the near future.
During, the progress of the Wellington meeting. Ideate, the threo-yeer-old son of Birkenhead' and Idea, was purchased by the Canterbury sportsman Mr J. "Westerroan. Aurum, who is now at the stud at St. Albans, Geelong, was represented in England last season on the turf by two winners.
According to local torf writers in India, Peru was, prior to the Viceroy's Cup, suffering from a multiplicity of ailments, the most often alleged being rheumatism. ,
