AKAROA.
The Pigeon Bay corresoondent of the "Akaroa Mail" telephoned on Monday that Mr Duxbury had made a start with the cuttins of his cocksfoot. The seed down on the flat is ripening very fast, and Messrs McHale Bros., who have the road, will begin very soon.
He anticipated that cutting would be general at the end of the week. Several men came down by the John Anderson on Monday. The crops look well, "<?t .ciallv on the lower levels.
