WEATHER SUMMARY AND FORECAST.

The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates's weather summary and forecast: —The barometer has risen everywhere and the weather has continued unsettled and stormy in the southernmost districts. Rain has also fallen on the West Coast of the South Island, but elsewhere the weather has been generally fine. Since Friday night strong south-westerly winds have prevailed north of East Cape and Kawhia. The present indications are for a falling barometer with westerly winds backing to northerly, and freshening generally. Rain ie • probable on the Weet Coast and the southern districts of the South Island, and hary and more cloudy weather is expected elsewhere, heralding b> change in conditions.
