When Arcadia fell in the Tramway Hack Hurdles at the Rangitikei R.C. Meeting yesterday, F- Whitehouse was serious]} 'injured. At ,_ late hour last night he had not recovered consciousness and was lying in a critical cono> tion at the Palmerston North Hospital. The stakes paid at the Auckland Racing Club's Summer SJeeting, which was brought to a close yesterday, totalled £12,050. Mr 3. Buckley headed the list of winning owners with £1625, the whole amount being won by All Red. Next on the list came Mr G. D. ' Greenwood with £1550, and Sir Geo. Clifford with £1215.
Nominations for the South Canterbury Trotting Club's Annual Meeting close this evening. Forfeits for the North Island Challenge Stakes and Wellington Stakes close this evening.
