ASHBURTON.
During the New Year holidays at Ashburton tho scholars of the Primitive Methodist Sunday School held their annual picnic on Mr James "Wilson's farm at Wakanui. The "Wakanui Good Templars Lodge held their picnic in a paddock lent by Mr John Hunt, Hampstead. The Ashburton Rifle Volunteers held their first annual picnic at Wosterfield.
