ROAD BOARDS.
RAKAIA. The last meeting of the Rakaia Road Board was attended by Messrs G. Hall (chairman), K. Wilson, and G. Steele. An application from H. Lee for an extension of time on his contract on Doyb's road extension was granted ; also that of J. Hart- for leave to cart boulders from the Pound gravel reserve. Applications for the position of clerk and surveyor to the Board were considered, and it was unanimously resolved that Mr S. R. Wright be appointed.
