In connection with the Lincoln Presbyterian Church, the induction of the Rev. Sidney Hillt, late of Napier, as pastor, took place «_ Tuesday afternoon The ceremony was performed by the Rev. P. C. Durward, of Leeston, who addressed the minister as to his duties. The Rev. Mr Macdcnald spoke to the congregation, an<_ the Rev Mr Johnston preached a sermon. A social was held in the evening, the DTiiids' Hall being packed. After the tea a concert programme was given, items being contributed by the choir and others. The Revs. Smythe and A. Ashcroft spoke. Mr Wm. Gilmore ,flroix>sed a vote of thanks to the Rev. Mr* Durward as Moderator, and Mr Moore, of Prebbleton. thanked all the sneakers an<v the ladies who had helped in providing the entertainment.
