ORGAN RECITAL.

Jhe first Wagner programme, given a .fortnight ago. by Dr. Bradshaw, tho Lity Organist, resulted in a record attendance and high appreciation by the audience, and on the occasion of the second on Saturday afternoon, the result was equally satisfactory. The opening number of the programme was the stately "March of the Ambassadors," from yßienzi." The dignity of the composition was artistically interpreted by Dr. Bradshaw. "Elizabeth's Prayer," from "Tannhauser," was played with much delicacy and taste, ""•'bile the "Tannhauser" overture, 'Senta's Song," from the "Flying Dutchman," and "The Ride of the Valkyries" received a masterly interpretation. The ever-popular "Star of *_ye," given as an enoore, represented the softer and more melodious compositions of Wagner, and was excellently played. In two other number. Dr. Bradshaw was equally successful, and they were most artistically given. These were the beautiful prelude to the first act of "Lohengrin," with its charming instrumental combinations, and "The Shepherds' Lay and Pilgrims' Chorus," from "Tannhauser." The latter was especially finely played, the effect of the tones of the shepherd's pipe mingling with the chorus of the pilgrims, being admirably worked out. The introduction to the third act of "The Flying Dutchman," and the chorus of Norwegian sailors, redolent of the sea in its boisterous mirth, are not often heard, and the thanks of the lovers of Wagner's music are due to Dr. Bradshaw for introducing it. The number was finely played, the chorus especially so, the true swing and abandon of the sailors' singing being excellently brought out.
