EGG-LAYING COMPETITIONS.

The ducks in the New Zealand Poultry Institute's competition at St. Albans laid 526 eggs during the week ending Friday, December 3rd. The following are the six best returns for the week:—E. H. Barker's White Leghorns 33, H. Barnett's Brown Leghorns 33, W. A. Nixon's White Leghorns 32, R. Willis and Sons' White Leghorns 31, F. R. Cameron's White Leghorns 31. The highest totals to date are:—F. R. Cameron's White Leghorns 1014, Mrs i Jas. Mills's White Leghorns 955, W. I Balch's White Leghorns 953. Miss E. Hearneld's White Leghorns 919. Hawke and Shaw's White Leefiorns 881, G. H Robinson's White Lephorns 874. R. Willis and Sons' White Leghorns 869, T Kennedy's Silver Wyandottes 857.
