THE STRIKE AT THE STATE COAL MINE.
THE MINERS' FEDERATION . MEETING,
(special to "the press.") GREYMOUTH, December 2. The President of the Miners' Federation states that it has not yet been decided where the meeting of the Federation to consider tho strike question will take place. If Westport i~. selected, the meeting will be held on Monday, and if Wellington, is decided o_, Wednesday will be the date. The executive is of Messrs Galbraith (Auckland), Scanlon (Waihi), Perry (Waihi), Fulton (Huntley), Armstrong (State Mine Extension), Mariiey (secretary, Auckland), Semple (president of the State Collieries' Union). The President hopes the meeting of the executive will devise some means to arrive at an amicable settlement. The Railway Department has purchased all the available coke (about 100 tons) from the Greymouth Gas Works. By arrangement witE the Public Works Department, all the coal consigned from the Panaroa and Blackball Companies' mines is now being trucked direct from the mines to Ngahere by rail, and in consequence the aerial tramway is not being worked.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) GREYMOUTH, December 2. The miners, so far. have made no ne.v move, but the Paparoa miners, in a resolution, have expressed syjnpathy with the strikers.
