Hoir, meteorological observer etKKa- t Riora. reports:—The rainfall for November h«i been far above the average for this month. Rain fell on eleven days, the total being 3.97 in. Tho greatest daily rainfall -was .91in. (on the 6th). The average rainfall in November for the last five years was only .91, thus making the amount this year more than four times the average. With the exception of the Bth and 11th, when the noon shade temperature rose to 80deg. end 81deg. resptctive.y, the weather has been cool with many cloudy days. On three occasion* (the nighte of the 3rd, 23th, and 26th) the minimum grass temperature was down to about freezing point.. The effect of the rainfall has been en abnormal growth of grass, and there ia a> superabundance of feed everywhere. The excessive rains and want of aunshine will probably he prejudicial to the corn crops. The wheat on the low lying lands must have . suffered in this respect, and warm sunny ' wealher is much needed. The rainfall at Kaiapoi for the twenty-four 1 hours ending 9.30 a.m. yesterday was .03in. ] The rainfall for November was 2.42 in, «nd for j the corresponding month of last year .61in. -
