GENERAL WEATHER FORECAST.
The following is the Rev. D. C. Batee'e general weather summary and forecast: — During the past two days strong southerly winds and cold and wet weather have prevailed, but the brunt of the storm fell on too Ea?t Coast of the South Island. Snow fell thick among the mountains, and hail anU sleet, on Saturday. The barometer has risen nearly an inch sine* Friday evening in parts, and has not been co generally low for a long time previously. The present indications are for a change soon for milder weather, the winds changing by easterly to northerly soon, especially in the south, with a sluwly falling barometer.
