WELLINGTON, October 25. A deputation consisting of representatives of six Unions taking part in the Trades and Labour Gotusale' Oonfewnce, Allied the Minister of Labour to-night for the: Government's aupport in paaiittg ft measure fc> ensure a. weekly day of rest for hotel employees. It was mentioned that Mr F. M. D. Fisher had a Bill dealing with this question. The Hon. J. A. Millar said he could not support Mr Fisher's Bill, because ii practically- amounted 'to a piece * f class legislation for the Henefit of hotel employee*. Hβ pointed out that a Urge number of occupations involved Sunday work. Be wanted ta see something practical done, and had prepared a But enacting mal« hotel' servant* to work sixty hours * week, and females flffcy*sfjt hours; half-iiolidavn could be accumulated for three tnonthe, when 'a full week , * holiday on fall p*y was to bo granted.; If an employee -was dismissed before that time, he would be paid overtime rates for all holidays he had not received.
