Mr J. G. S. Doorlejr having completed his Royal Naval Reserve drill, has joined the Tarawera as chief officer. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Ftramer Wakanui, which left Wellington on Tuesday for London, took a very large cargo from New Zealand, including about 80,000 carcases of mutton and lamb, over 13,000 sacke of grain, about 300} bales of •vool, and a large quantity of frozen sundries, tallow, and other produce. Mr Walter* Scott, who has been on holiday leave, is to join the Pateene to-day as chief officer, in place of Mr C. McLean, who goes to Wellington for orders. Mr G. Hay McKonzie-, acting purser of the Moana joined the Paloona at Sydney, relieving Mr W. B. Cunningham, who joined the Moana. The Ripple, which sailed last evening, had % full cargo for Wellington and Gisborne. The vessel is due beck here about Thursday

After a long passage of twelve daye, the schooner Morning Light arrived in the etieam on Wednesday night with a cargo of timber from Waitapu. Tho vessel was delayed by n succession of etrong southerly winds and bad weather. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received the followin gcablegram from London under date of July 11th:—The Whakatane has about 600 tone of cargo damaged and unfit for re-shipment. The balance of cargo is being forwarded by the Waimate, sailing on July 21st.
