There was a very large entry of fat cattle, and a good proportion was of prime quality, the entry being made up entirely of locally-b-red animals. TTie demand was weak, and sales were irregular and difficult to effect. Prime beef made 19s Id to 21s 6d, medium 18s to 19s, and oow and inferior 13s to 17s per lOOib. Steers realised £4 15s to £10 17s Gd. he-ifors £4 to £9, and cows £4 to £9 2s 6d. Fat calves were represented by an ordinary yarding, and the demand ws on a par with recent markets, prices ranging from 4s 6d to Sβ, tho latter price being paid for an animal of extra good quality. STORE CATTLE.
Only a small number of store cattle came forward in the store pens, and of these the bulk consisted of dry oows. For all classes the demand was very weak, few of those present being inclined to make purchases, even at low prices ruling. Three-year etoere realised £5 2s 6d. three-yeaj heifers £3 17s 6d, two-year steers £2 14s to £2 15s, two-year heifere £2 9a, and dry cowe 20s to £3. DAIRY OOWS.
