MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr W. B. Haselden, S.M.) V DRUNKENNESS. Two first offenders for drunkenness were each fined 5s and corfs, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. INDECENCY. John Leslie was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment for using obscene language, and three month* lmprisonment for indecency. DISMISSED. ' George Louis Turner charged Thomas Cornwall with using abusive language to him, and applied for sureties of tho peace. The complainant did not appear, and Mr Donnelly, who represented defendant, applied for the case to be dismissed. ~ The Magistrate said he would dismiss the case, with costs to defendant. BY-LAW CASE. John Hardie- Murdock was fined 5s and costs for cycling on tho footpath.
