THE TRIP OVER THE IRISH SEA.
ALLEGED TO BE A HOAX. United Press Association— By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON. Jnly 12. The "Daily Chronicle" learns on tho authority of the so-called Dr. M. Boyd himself that his airship story was a fabrication. He hoaxed the "Daily News," but his motive is not stated.
The following message was received on July 7th:—A private syndicate, with a capital of a quarter of a million, i 3 being formed to work Dr. M. Boyd's airship. Dr. Boyd and two companions crossed the Irish Channel with the utmost secrecy at night-time, in May. They crossed at a height of 3500 feet in four hours, covering a distance of ninety miles. They landed near Belfast, and re-crossed the following night. Dr. Boyd admits that his airship was the mysterious one .reported at Caerphilly, Cardiff, Northampton, and elsewhere in May.
