LINCOLN COLLEGE.
MEETING OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS.
A meeting of the Board of Governors of Canterbury Agricultural College was held yesterday iit the A. and P. Association's rooms. There were present Hon. E. C. J. Stevens (chairman), Messrs W. A. Knight, F. Blackley, W. McMillan, E. Richardson, junr., and M. Murphy. Mr G. Jameson wrote asking for leave of absence for four months. Leave was granted, but the seat would not be filled, as Mr Jameson retires in December next. The Farm Committee reported that necessary works wero being carried out on the newly acquired farm, and they hoped to be able to commence shelter belts this .season. The question of B.Sc. in Agrieultiiro, a.s contemplated by the New Zealand University, was discussed, and trhilo the_ Board heartily approved of the project, it was decided to make further enquiries. Dr. Hilgendorf's work has been arranged to enable him to devote more time to original work, which will bo of great value not only to the College, but to the country ivt general. The director was directed to advertise for the position of house-master. Mr Murphy drew attention to the want at tho College of a collection of
typical trees, principally of: hearing tribes.
