AMY BOCK. c RUMOURED APPEARANCE IN CHRISTCHURCH. A rumour Has been current in the city this last few days, that the incorrigible "Amy" had put in an appearance, and was actually working as a tailor in this city. A representative of '"The Press" was sent in hot pursuit of copy, and knowing that Mr Owen, The London Tailor, was a man well informed as to the tailoring business generally, elicited the fact that he believed there was a certain amount of truth in the report, and further, that not only was Auy employed, but that certain tailors finding the demand for badly made clothes dying out, were resorting to extraordinary methods to girll the public, and presumably taking the cue from "Amy," were dressing their girls up as tailGrs; in order that they could now sell their productions as ''REAL TAJLuit MADE." The Press-man was informed by Mr Owen that he was one of a very few tailors who did not employ women coat makers; everyone of his coats are made by an expert tailor, and our representative was fully convinced that the great success of Mr Owen's business was due to sheer merit, the sterling honesty of his goods, hie courteous manner, and the enormous saying his cash prices represent. We can readily believe that every patron becomes an advertising medium for his business. You will find his establishment in the United Service Buildings, Hereford street. C 4705
