WOMAN AND TWO CHILDREN SEVERELY BURNED.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) ELTHAM, July 3. A serious burning accident occurred this forenoon on a farm between Eltbam and Mangatoki. Some clothes were drying before the fire in a houso occupied by a dairy farmer named Bilk, in "Parker's property, when by some means Mrs Bills's clothes caught fire, also those of her two daughters, aged 4 and 11, who went to their mother's assistance. Th© house also caught, but the children escaped outside and- the mother was dragged out by the son, who came on the scene and was followed by the husband and others who were some distance away and did not at first observe the fire. Tlio mother had the whole of her clothing burned off her body, and is fearfully injured. • The girls also arc badly burned and, their hair destroyed, but the injuries are not so serious as their mother s. They were tsrken to a private hospital in Elthara. x • -..;-, The house and contents, including somo monov, were totally destroyed, and tho family only possess the clothes tho- "were wearing. Airs Bills has not even clothing left.
