HOCKEY.
Tho Canterbury Hockey Association's matches were all postponed on Saturday on account of tho'weather. (press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, July 4. It is probable that in consequence of the Canterbury Hockey Association refusing to give the Auckland Association any guarantee, that the Auckland v. Canterbury representative match set down for decision at* Christchurch on August 19th,. will be abandoned, and a match with Southland at Invercargill substituted. The latter body has offered the Aucklanders substantial financial assistance.
