Sir Edward Clarke, the Dean of Canterbury, Sir West Ridgeway, and Admiral Freemant-lo woro present. Lord Curaon declared that tho bulk of the married women did not favour suffrage, and the -wives of workers were indif-
ferent or hostile. It was impossible to enfranchise women and refuse the vote to wives.
