Australian :s quoted at 42b 3d, holders asking 42s Gd for cargoes ui'oat, and a-iso tor April-May shipment*. Tiur<_> is a small enquiry tor Australian spot at 40s. There was a sharp decline in flour at Glat-gnw, owing K> hv-avy arrivals of Australian. Sales were made at 33s tkl ex quay. A small quantity L> offering in London at 3."-.v and 345. Butter is quiet. There iv good enquiry tor choicest New Zealand makes, at about 100s t-o 101s; for Australian at '..Ms and !.'ss. Other sorts are neglected. Cheese is firm ; white New Zealand 00s to 01k. coloured 02s to 635. Copper on the spot £37 7s Od, three months iloS 2s ("d. Tin on tha s'wt £132 os, three months £133 10s. lvoau £13 7,s Od. Iron, 47s 10(1. Suuar, German 10s od, first marks 12s 3d. The Bradford wool market is firm, and prices are unchanged. At tho sheep.skin sales ooSO Australasian were catalogued. Slerinos and line crossbreds are a farthing to a hali.i.vnny dearer; coarse crossbreds combings, halfpenny dearer. The bulk of the offerings are clothing qualities. Short woollen skins show an eighth to a farthing decline. There aro many withdraw lis. Pelts aro neglected. The British-New Zealand "Slcat and Produce Company, Ltd., received the following cable from London this morning:—"The mutton market continues in a very depressed state. Canterbury lamb, 4id to -lid; North Island lamb, .-lidto-l'id." Messrs "Dalgety and Co. have received the following cables from their London office, dated. 28th and 29th insts.: —"The tallow market is very quiet and prices in general are lower by 3d per cwt." "Wool —Dates of our own sales are oth. 12th. and 20th Slay." "Less demand for frozen lamb and any change in prices is in favour of buyers. Frozen mutton market weak; any change in prices of light-weights being in favour of buyers, whilst prices of heavy-weights are lower by |d to id per lb. Expect a decline in prices of all descriptions of frozen mutton. Frozen beef market weak, but without quotable change. I "Sheepskins—Good demand for combing skins; prices of Australian are Jd to id per lb higher, and New Zealand id to Id' per lb higher; short-woolled and shorn pelts are par to Jd lower." GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS. (by our commercial editor.) i Friday Evening. Tho English wheat market having become steadier has given a better tone to the- local market. At the beginning of tho week buyers were disinclined to do business, except at much lower rates than those of the week before, but only a few purchases were made at under 4a at country stations. There are now several buyers again operating both for local milling an dfor export, and prices are again firmer. Though a sale is reported at equal to 3s lOd, and a lino of 2600 bushels of Hunters at &;. lid at country stations, a fair quantity of wheat has changed hands at 4s, including two mixed lines aggregating nearly oOCO bushels. Oats are hardly so firm, as there is not such a keen demand for immediate delivery for ex,pOrt. Until a supply of sacks is available business must necessarily be restricted. Thero is no change in other lines of grain or produce. Cocksfoot—4Jd to 42d, at country stations. Flour.—£ll 10s per ton. Bran.—£4 os local, £4 f.0.b., per ton.. Pollard.— per ton. Oatmeal.—£lo per ton. New Oatshoaf Chaff.— 35s to £2, at country stations. Potatoes.—37s 6d for Up-to-Dates and Derwents. at country stations.. Peas.—Partridge 3s 7d- to 3s Bd, Blue Imp-rials 4s 6d, Blue Prussians, 4s to 4s 2d. Onions.—£3 5s to £3 7s 6d, at country stations.
