Mr Giltman, manager of the New South Wales League team, has returned. He attributes the financial failure of the tour to tho cotton strike in the North of England, and to the Press being dead against the team, on account of the charge for admission. The prices usually charged are 2d and 4d, bat during the tour the "charge was Is. He believes that no amateur team will ever again be invited from the.colonies, as a result of the Scottish decision in regard to professionalism. SYDNEY UNIVERSITY TEAM. (PRESS ASSOCIATION* TBLKOEAM.) WELLINGTON, April 13. Preliminary arrangements for the visit of a foot-ball team from Sydney University have been made by the New Zealand University Comauittee. The Sydney team will "come over in, September and play two matches with the New Zealand University at Dunedin ahd at Christchurch. There will be a match with Otago University at Dunedin, one with Victoria College at Wellington, and if possible the visitors will also play Auckland University College at Auckland. Tbe Richmond President's football team defeated Oxford at Oxford by 5 points to 4. For the winners, Appleyard scored a try and Cross converted, and for the losers, Shankland potted a goal from the field.
