EASTER WHEEL RACE MEETING
Excellent entries have been received for the Easter Wheel Race Meeting, to be held at Lancaster Park o>l Good Friday afternoon by the Chmtchurch Cycling and Motor Club. Riders from almost all parts of the Dominion have entered, including past, pipsent, and no doubt future champions. Several of the intending competitors from distant parts have already arrived, including a number from Weir hngton. l>«ring the afternoon 30 events will be contested, comprising wheel racing, foot running and bugle competition (confined to school cadets), football kicking competitions, and almost endless novelties, while the Lyttelton Marine Band will assist with a popular programme of music. CARNIVAL AT KAIAPOI. Numerous entries have been received for the taster Maori Athletic and Cycling Carnival, to be held at Kaiapoi on Eastor Monday, under tho auspjces of the Kaiapoi Cycling Club. The ' Kaiapoi Maoris are giving a display of hakas, war dances, bullook roasting, and pillow fighting. The Sheffield Handicap foot race, and the cycling events have drawn competitors from all ,warts of New Zealand, and there ie> every prospect of tlio meeting being very successful. Handicaps are expected to Ik> ready for publication in to-morrow's issue.
