LODGE MEETINGS.
The quarterly summoned meeting of the Loyal Amberley Lodge of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, was held on Wednesday. Thero was a large attendance, Bro. It. Hunter, N.G., presiding. The valuation report of the Government Actuary was read, showing a surplus of £665, as against £157 at tho previous valuation. During the five years tho sickness experienced was 587 weeks, costing £401, being the exact amount anticipated by the Actuary. There were three deaths during tho period, also corresponding with expectations. The average rate of interest earned during the term was 4.43 per cent. The Actuary further reported that the lodgo was in a very sound position. Tho members of the lodge expressed their gratification at the favourable nature of tho report. A committee was appointed to make arrangements for holding a series of progressive ouchro parties during the win- . ter months. Bonuses to the amount jof £20 15s were voted to throe of the j original members of the lodgo who had , reached tho age entitling them to such. P.M. Bros. G. R. Hoi ton and W. H. Hale were elected deputies to the Ashley district meeting, to be held at Rangiora on the 17th instant.
