The Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society fliw off its first young , bird race of the season from Culverden or. Saturday, 13*h March. Forty-four mrds were sent," reprejen'.iug seventeen owners. The birds wera 'ibereted at 12.30 p.m. in fine weather, with a light scuth-west wind for them to face. The winner was Mr R. Haitoun's Princes* {lot, which traversed ;hc oisTance of 54 mile* 093 yards air-line iv 1 hour 45 minutes 49 eeconda.
