BANKS v CIVIL SERVICE.
A series of three matches between teams representing the Hanks and the Civil was played at Ilagley Park yesterday, the Hanks winning a.. the games. In tho senior game the Civil Service batted lirst, but could only make 8:. (Nield 29 not out and Chapman '20) agaiust the bowling of Addison (rive for 23) ami Hudson (three for 23). The Banks replied with _>S, Addison (32), Simmons (21). and Tennent (13i being thc highest scorers. Porter took six wickets for 23 and Costelloe three for 19. In their second innings Civil iSorvice made 90 (Duyer 11. Costelloe 13, Chapman 13. Nome 11) Addison (two tor 41) and Simmons (six for 3.1. took the wickets for the Hanks, who had scored 71 for six wicket- at the call of lime, thus winning o-i the first innings. Reid (four for 22) an 1 Porter (two for 20) bowled b.st lor th ' Civil Service. In the second match tbo Banks scored 4"> (Wri-rht 22. and 231 (Wright 00, iShegog 40. Finch 37. Sellar 30, HamnMorris It) to their opponents' 73 (Salmon 24. West 17. Cleary 12 l and 11" (Freeman 20, Deve.reux 17. Russell 15, Salmon 11), aud thus won by 8 V runs. Wright and Morris lei tho winners, and Fames and West for the losers, bowled best. Tlie third match was won by the Banks by 2 runs.
