LITTLE RIVER STOCK SALES.

Messrs Pyne and Co. held their monthly stock sale at Little River yesterday, when they submitted an entry of about 4000 sheep and a few pens of cattle. There was a large attendance, and a fair business was transacted. Tlie entry consisted of ewes of various ages, lambs, nnd a few pens of wethers. For young ewes of a good class there* was a fairly good demand, but lamlis, aged and full-mouthed ewes, were not easily •sold unless at prices considerably lower than were ruling a month or six weeks since. The late dry weather and its effect upon the rape and turnip crops o: course accounts for this, but with twenty-four hours' rains the trend of values would again return to something like the level of early February rates, at least for breeding ev.es and forward wethers. The following prices were obtained : —Two-tooth ewes (good)
