CASUALTIES
A nasty accident befel a young man named Mcßeth on "Saturday last, at Mount Torlcsse Station, Springfield. While he was carrying his bicycle over some? rafters in the wool shed, his foot slipped, and he was precipitated to the floor below, one leg striking the bicycle in the fall. Some portion of the bicycle* entered the calf of the leg. .severing a main artery, and almost tearing the muscle from the front of the shit.-hone. The young man was driven to Dr Simpson's surgery in Darfield. where it was found necessary to put several stitches into the wound.

NAPIER, March 16. A young man named W. Fisher, whilst fishing to-night, fell off the Glasgow Wharf, and .succumbed to the effects of the immersion.
