Tho following is the cable from the High Commissioner, dated 13th inst :— The frozen mutton market is depressed, and there is scarcely any deimind. Supplies are iiitrt-neiup:. Xciv Zealand beef beiny pushed for sale. Forcriuartcrs are quoted at 3}d ; hindquarters, which are in moderate supply, 2id. Tho butter market is quiet, with small business doing. Somo holders are forcing, sales. The demand is cluefly for high grade unsalted butter. Choicest Xew Zealand brands are quotr<l at 10&S, Danish llos, Australian 103s, Siberinn 103s, Arsentino lOoe. The cheese mark-et remains firm. Coloured makes are quoted at G4s; white makes 60s. The hemp market closes weak, with a lower tendency in prices. Tho current quotations are : Good fair grade on the spot £23 10s, fair grade on the spot £21 15s, fair current Manila on the spot £23, April-June shipments, good fair grade £23 sis, fair grade £21 10s, fair current ManiJa £22. L<ast weok's Manila output amounted to 23,000 bales. The wool market is firm, with an upwurd tendency. Bradford tops are quoted as fnllows :—3(ve. low croosbreds. 11 Jd ; 40's, low crossbreds. Is OJd ; -14'j», medium erossbreds, Is ljd ; 50's, halfbreds, Is sd ; 56's, quarterbrecLs, Iβ "d ; COs. Merinos, 2s. The following shipments arrived from River Plate during the ironth of February:—London, frozen mutton, Io9.19o; lamb, 42,996: Liverpool, mutton 111.334, lamb 26.678; HuU. mutton, 10.210; lamb, 8135; Cardiff, mutton 10,463, lamb 3699; Southampton. mutton 11,921, lamb 4725; Xeweastle, mutton Bi3B, lamb 4000.
