DOMAIN BOARD.
*-, Tho ordinary meeting of tho Domain Board was held yesterday, when there wero present:—MCiSsrs H. J. Bos-wick, (chairman), G. Witty, M.P., H. P. Murray-Aynslov. G. Scott, J. Wolfe, B. P. Manhira, W T . Dunlop, Hon. C: C. Bowen, and tho Mayor of Christohurch. It was nrjrecd that tho Board should meet at tho Armagh etreet bridge on Tuesday next, at - p.m., for tho purpose of marking trees. It was resolved iibat tho suggestion of"the Chairman as to planting Oriental planes between Armagh street bridge and tho lake Ehould be adopted. It was decided that ©wing to the grass in the newly-planted portions of tho Park not being sufficiently grown, football playing ehould not bo allowed. Hon. C. C. Bo won called attention to a patch of rushes which existed in th© Park, and which, if not eradicated, would ruin the grass in the Domain. Tho Chairman said that tlio matter would bo attended to. Mr Manhire brought up tho question of cropping a couple of plots of ten acres in the North and South Parks. It was resolved that tho matter of cropping a part of the Park bo referred to tlie Executive, and that the discussion be adjourned till next meeting. . It was resolved that the head gardener be authorised to obtain a collection of bulbs as euc.B-[.'>ted by him Tho Chairman said tho head gardener had suggested that instead oi planting the piece near tho College Grounds with clumps of trees, as proposed by the Board: Oriental planes should be planted fairly widely apart It was resolved that this ehould bo dono.
