THE VOLUNTEERS.
Order No. 1 for the Easter training end manoeuvres (from April 9th. to April 12th inclusive) has been issued by Lieut.-Col. Hawkins, O.C. Canterbury district. The manoeuvres will embrace garrisoning the forts by vhi: coast defence force, supixirted by infantry and other arms (active field forre>, and in outpost rceonnaisanee, attack and defence and marches (with special attontion to the co-operation of all arms), combined with field filing on surprise targets for field artillery, maxims, and small arms. The companies detailed for the purpose mobilise nt headnuarters on the evening of April Bth, and proceed by train to the main camping ground. Mount Somer.s, whero they are to arrive at 5.30 o'clock the following morning.
