PIGEON FLYING.
The Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flew off a race from Kazkoura- on Saturday, J-utiary 23rd. The birds wero liberated at 11 a.m., iv good weather, and with a nor'west wind b.owing. The winner was Mr A. FarreU's ltoaebud, which flew tho distance of 101 miles 1150 yards in 2hr -Urnin 33ssc. The Society desires to think Mr Mulianc for attending to and liberating Urn bird*. The following is the result: —A. FarreU's Rosebud. 1107y-s per minute: L. Su_dera's English Rosy. 1101 yds; E. Fucha's Tuscan, 109?y&s; F. Gal.ant, 1005 yds; T. JCewton's Frailiy. lTOSvda; F. Chambers's Scottv. 1001 yds; -I. "Seales's Spryden, lOSiJyds; £. Rowes Armour Plate, 1080 yds; L. Walton's Pactolus, 1077 yds.
