WAINONI PARK.
The Avonsiue Sunday school will bold a picnic at Wainoni Park to-day. To-morrow Signor Vignola's Band will play selections during the afternoon. Op Thursday next the anniversary of Wainoni Park will be celebrated. A challenge to all comers has. been issueby the Wainoni staff for rifle shooting and rope quoit throwing, and there aro a largo number of other events, including married and single women's races and a baby show. A naval battle will be held, and there will bo lolly scrambles and Punch and Judy for the children. An extensive firevorks display is being prepared, and the popular scene of "'The Last Days ol Pompeii" will be given. Tho pierrots, gymnasts and clowns will appear, ond Signor Vignola's orchestra will play during tho afternoon and evening.
