Miss Corson, a stewardess of the Union steamer Manuka, was on Monday afternoon presented with a silver service and a set of cat vers on her leaving the Manuka to bo married to a gentleman in Dunedin. The r-ieaentation waa made by the chief steward, Mr It. Buchanan, who, in a suitab'e speech, conveyed the good wishes of her fellowworkers.

The New Zealand .Shipping- Company's tr.ple-screw steamer Otaki, from Liverpool, via Auckland, is due at Wellington to-mor-row, and should arrive hero about Tuesday next.

Tho l.ew Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Waltanui, which arrived at Lyttelton yesterday evening, made a very faßt run up from the Bluff. The vessel left tho eouthero port at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and entered Lyttelton Heads at 7 p.m. yesterday, having thus covered the distance, about 825 miles, in 26 hours at an average speed of IS knots an hour, a very creditable performance for a single screw vessel of the -Wakanni's class. Tho vessel is to load cargo here for London, and is to sail on Saturday for Waitara, Picton, Napier, and Wellington to complete loading. The schooner Lily left Westport on Tuesday with a cargo of coal for Wanganui, where she will afterwards load timber (totaro) for Ly t tolton. ,>»i

The schooner Annie Hill is expected to leave Greymouth to-day with a cargo of timber for Lyttelton.

The brigantine Aratmpu started loading at Dargaville on Tuesday for Lyttelton. She will complete at Tekopuru, and will sail next week.
