NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The bazaar in aid of the Spreydon Recreation ground will be opened this afternoon, at three o'clock, at the Spreydon school, by Mr J. D. Hall. A meeting of Welshmen will be held in the rooms of tho Scottish Society, on Friday, at 8 p.m., to arrange a welcome for the Royal Welsh Choir.
The Publio Library will be closed for the annual stocktaking from Monday, February Ist, to Saturday, February 6th, both days inclusive. Tho Reading Room will be closed on February sth and 6th, for tbo annual cleaning.
A sale of work in aid of the building fund, will be held in tho New Church schoolroom, Fitzgerald street north, St. Albans to-morrow, at 2.30 p.m.
It is notified that persons who require financial assistance for making sewer connections can obtain particulars at tho City Council office.
A poll with respect to the special loan of £4000, proposed to be raised by tho Sumner Borough Council, will be taken on Thursday, February 11th.
The nominations of candidates to represent the Chamber of Commerce on tho Harbour Board, will close with tlie Secretary- a * noon on Monday. The annual meeting of voluntary contributors to the Samaritan Home will bo held in Dalgety _ Chambers, to-mor-row, at 8 p.m... to elect a trustee. The meetings of the Fabian Society will be resumed this evening, at eight o'clock, in the rooms, Carey's Building, Gloucester street, when Mr H. G. Horn-brook will give an address entitled, "Some Aspecta of European Socialism."
