TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PREBS." ,Sir.—Relative to your article in Monday's "Press" on "Thirds" due to local bodies from land sales or value obtained from lands of the Crown, tho statement miflc by the Premier (the late Hon. Mr Seddon) in ISO 9 was brought forward by him in his speech on leasehold v. freehold , when he recognised thnt "thirds" wero due to local bodies. This needs to bo mentioned as showing that tho claim for "thirds" is fitill within the stntute of limitations, having beon ro-owniKod by the Prime Minister uni Colonial Treasurer within the last six years.—Yours, etc., OBSERVER
