Bnbrikoff was scratched for the New Zealand Cup at 1.40 p.m. yesterday. Nominations close to-night for the Taieri Amateur Turf Club's Spring Meet in::. A telegram from Palrnerston North states- that Mr D. Buick's sprinter, Rnngipapa, has developed.strangles. The colt was operated upon yesterday, and will not now make tho trip South. His stable mate, Tangimeana, leaves for Christclnirr.h to-day to fulfil her New Zealand Cnn engagement. Owing to his electioiieerinrs duties, Mr Buickwill not journey to Cliristchurch to see tho race for tne Cup.
